Paper Boats

Krishna is a 5 years old boy who lives in a village with his family. As rain fails that year, his parents decided to move to the city to settle in. He silently saw his mother packing all their belongings. He asked, “Mumma where are we going?”. His mom replied, “We are going to town to live there because this year no rain here and we cant do harvest”.  He felt sad that he always wished to live in village with his friends and nature. Finally they moved to the town. But Krishna is not happy. He missed his friends and village where he always play outside in nature. It was his first visit to town. In town he saw only buildings everywhere. He prayed to god everyday for rain. One day he was watching the moving vehicles through the window. He felt suffocated. Suddenly the clouds formed giantly. He felt some drops over his cheeks from the sky. He jumped in joy and shouted, “Mumma, its raining, its raining. Rain came to see us in town”. He said to his mom that he would like to go out in rain and play. But she refused him not to go out as they are in town and the vehicles are moving. He become sad again and watched the rain through window. His mom made some paper boats and said him to play near the doorstep. He filled the boats with rain water and placed them on the stagnated water outside. His mom asked him, why he is filling the boats with water. He said innocently, “Mumma, I’m sending some rain to our village in these boats”. His mom grabbed him and kissed on his forehead and said, “Krishna, monsoon has started so we are moving to village again”. Krishna became happy again and this time his happiness was permanent.
